STELLA SOFTWARE

STELLA software is a software which is designed for modeling the dynamic system. This software can be used for sophisticated relationships. Jegner (2011) in STELLA modeling software website stated STELLA software provides a set of simple building blocks which faculty or students can use to piece together the relationships operating in an ecosystem. This software provide benefits to the teacher and students in understanding some situation, question or even a phenomenon. From the official web of isee systems STELLA it listed some use of STELLA:
-          simulate a system over time
-          jump the gap between theory and the real world
-          enable student to creatively change systems
-          teach students to creatively change system
-          clearly communicate system inputs and outputs and demonstrate outcomes
In order to run this system, Windows of computer need to have a few requiemnets. Those requirements are Microsoft Windows XP/Vista/7, 256 MB RAM, 200 MB disk space and QuickTime software.

This is one of the example of application of  sample of STELLA software.

This is a sample of pendulum experiment. It is to study the effect of length of string on time for pendulum to complete one oscillation.

Simple instruction is provided. Just click on “INSTRUCTION” word. To conduct the experiment adjust the knob provided.

Click “RUN” button and system will conduct experiment. Adjust the knob to change the manipulative variable.

Then, after a few measurement is taken student will be able to predict the result for the last graph.
